One to one: $12 USD per hour. Groups of up to three: $10 USD per student per hour. Both include a free trial.

A project starting point
books: id, title, author
loans: id, book_id, borrowed_on

loans.book_id → books.id

A loan points to an existing book. This is a relationship to reason about before writing the SQL.

Learn it, then put it to work.

Model a reading library with books and loans. Explain why a relationship is needed and test whether the design keeps records consistent.

What your lessons look like

Design before adding more tables.
Draw the things your project needs to remember and how they relate. Then turn the model into a small working database.
Check what could go wrong.
Try a missing book reference or a duplicate record. Use those cases to understand constraints, valid data and careful updates.

Questions about Databases

SQL focuses on querying and working with data. Database lessons also examine how to design tables, relationships and constraints for a project.

We’ll agree on a suitable database before lessons, based on your child’s project and starting point. You do not need to buy software before the trial.

Live, one-to-one lessons with Zain cost $12 USD per hour. Small groups of up to three cost $10 USD per student per hour. Both formats include a free trial.

Message Zain on WhatsApp or email zain@microcohort.org with your subject, time zone and availability. You’ll agree on a time together. Sending an enquiry does not confirm a booking.

If you want to continue, we’ll discuss your next topics and suitable lesson times. You can ask questions about the plan before deciding.
